So last night was…

So last night was fun! After an afternoon of shopping and a mini homesick freakout, Tyler and I made homemade pizzas! (even the dough was from scratch. #forthewin) A little flour here, some yeast there, and 30 minutes later BOOM. We ended up making three of them, all of which included bacon. Pork products are the bomb and we are heavy investors, what can I say. The pizzas looked a little like-ah’dees (poor attempt at Italian accent):

From L to R we had
1) pepperoni, chicken and bacon
2) pineapple, chicken and bacon
3) sausage, mushies, peppers and bacon

It was really a huge carb fest, considering I had made pancakes for breakfast and consoled in 2 apricot ales during my freakout. But whatever.

We shared our delicious eats with Joe and Twyla then played friggin’ Cranium. Quite possibly one of the best past times ever. Found out halfway through the game though, that it is in fact a Canadian version. (no, I do not know who the prime minister is, and no, I wouldn’t be able to draw a loonie). GOOD THING Twyla and I were partners because we pretty much ruled the green cards. More notably, the Humdingers. High fives all around for us.

Now Sunday is here, a little snow has fallen, and I don’t feel like getting out of bed. Partly because it IS Sunday, but more so because Layla is on top of me. Gloriously uncomfortable. Now what to have for breakfast….(in bed, of course).

*little update on Crap about Canada:
1) their clearance rack prices at factory outlet stores look like full retail prices. I may never get a new wardrobe.
2) they don’t plow. I repeat, they DON’T PLOW. I am already a terrible winter driver, now take away my plowing and salting? Ah, I’m screwed. Perhaps my white-knuckling is burning more calories though.
3) A basic oil change cost me $114. Whatisthat?!!?!?!?!?! Perhaps this is what cued the homesickness yesterday.
4) Tim Horton’s. It’s like the Dunkin Donuts of Canada. Great coffee… When I can get it. I just want a plain black coffee with nothing in it, people! So when I order “a medium black coffee, nothing in it” stop asking if I want cream and/or sugar! I juuuuust said nothing in it. Plain. Black. It happens every time. This wouldn’t be a problem at Dunks. I’m jus’ sayin’.

Until next time, my friends. Peace, love, and don’t do drugs (unless you have a prescription). xoxo

I’ve got some stuff you might like

I’ve got some stuff you might like. Music and Book recommendations. Relax, its nothing artsy fartsy. The music is stuff I’ve found to be popular up here, rather than in the states. It seems that Canadians really like dance/electronica stuff way more than rap/hip-hop. Fine by me, but every once in a while I’ll need my fix of songs about b*tches and hoes. Jus’ sayin’. So here are a few songs that are pretty catchy, regardless of their lack of b*tchy ho-i-ness (sp?):

Glad You Came– The Wanted

Call Me Maybe- Carly Rae Jepsen

Feel So Close- Calvin Harris

Hit Me Up- Danny Fernandes

Our Song- Kristina Maria

Burning- Mia Martina

Big in Japan- Martin Solveig and Dragonette

Livin’ My Love- Steve Aoki (ft. LMFAO & NERVO)

…and some others you lucky ones in the states already know about:

Wild Ones– Flo Rida (ft. Sia)

Part of Me- Katy Perry

Turn up the Music- Chris Brown

We Are Young- Fun. (ft. Janelle Monae)

Give Me All Your Luvin’- Madonna (ft. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A.)

Princess of China- Coldplay & Rihanna

Live my Life- Far East Movement (ft. Justin Bieber)

You’re Welcome.

And now, for the book I am currently reading, White Girl Problems by Babe Walker.

Quite possibly one of the best books I’ve read. Keep in mind, I’m no deep reader. I like things light and airy. Preferably with a pink cover. Think Chelsea Handler with way more money, drugs, glam and problems. Ahhhhh great, hilarious read.

Please please please lemme know if you want any more songs or books in the “dumb but funny” genre. I have LOTSA suggestions.

Top three things that…

Top the things that are currently bothering me about Canada:
1) no trader joe’s
2) the intense dryness gives you crazy lots of boogers.
3) the prices of eeeverything.

**there’s an honorary 4th that should go without mentioning, and that is being jobless. Don’t get me wrong, I loooove getting in daytime workouts and cooking meals for my man, but woof, unemployment comes with a really low paycheck (i.e.: $0).

Which leads me to tonight’s dinner.

This was made:

Woke up and…

Woke up and the first thing I said was “rabbit rabbit.” it supposed to be good luck. Tyler probably thought I was talking in my sleep. Very well then; I’ll have a good month anyways.

Aight aight, so 6am wake up, rabbit rabbitted, made some crazy delish hazelnut coffee, a bfast sandy for Ty to take on the go, pills and breaky for the pup, then ma (me) gets her egg white oats and a huge*ss glass-o-agua. Done. Delish. Digest.

Watched the DVR’d episode of last nights Revenge then got my rear to the gym. (Here’s where I’ll sidebar: since I just moved to this grand ol land of maple lovin folk, I decided I’d bounce from gym to gym and use up as many free trials as I could before committing some dinero towards a contract. This week’s gym? Women only. Hmm, not optimal, but way doable when free. Especially when half the battle is adjusting to this gosh dang altitude). I decided to double it up this AM and took Body Blast (taught by a major she-devil) and Cardio/Pump Interval. I am thoroughly whooped. WHOOPED. (another sidebar: I said last night that I did a 30 min at home workout, but I lied. I ended up going to Cardio Tone at the last minute. As Julia Roberts once said, “Big mistake. Huge.” It was basically a 60 minute nap with weights. I refuse to divulge any more details.)

Came home and made this bitch-*ss of a lunch:

Basmati rice that was leftover from dins the other night, topped with sautéed spinach, tomaters (no typo there), and egg whites. Small side of toasted leftover cornbread (made with Greek yogurt, yo!) chuggy-chugged a bajillionty gallons of H2O, then made a few of these biznatches:

Espresso protein nug-balls (I’m coining that term. Gimme a shout out if you ever use it)

I’m off to showah and hit Safeway to get some eats for din-din. (holy balls is food expensive up here! $&@!&@)
