Hey guys, happy Monday. I’m in need of a GIANT cuppa joe today (thank God I jumped back on the coffee wagon. PHEW). I managed to get 8+ hours of sleep each night, but all the fresh air from the weekend has me wiped. Not many eventful things happened with us, so here’s some highlights.
Friday: Wes and I walked over to the library to pick up the current book for Brie’s book club. After we grabbed it, we continued to walk around the neighbourhood for an additional 45 minutes or so. There was still a bit of snow on the ground from the day before, but it was sunny and quickly warming up as we were outside!
We had a quick and easy sausage dinner then Tyler played video games with his brother (do they ever grow out of that? Seriously!) while I watched Room then hit the sack.
Saturday: Tyler brought all our empties to the bottle return just as Wes went down for his morning nap. He brought me back a Nutella donut from Tims so I was a happy lady! Later in the day, we went to Costco0 – the usual. One of the most exciting purchases? Stemless wineglasses.
I helped Tyler with some of our en suite demo before quickly getting bored of it and opting to take the dogs for their walk instead.
We ended the day with some pizza and watched The Hateful Eight. Holy hell was that a long and boring movie. Waste of a Saturday night in my opinion!
Sunday: Morning play time is getting a bit more fun with Wes crawling around. Although, I do have to be super careful to keep on eye on him and what he gets into.
He had some leftover pb toast from breakfast and kept having ‘drive-by” snacks. (a bite each time we lapped around the table).
We headed over to Glenbow Ranch for a nice walk after lunch. Turns out, mister Wes was still hungry from not eating most of his food, so he was a bit of a grump. Luckily, I was able to hold off the whining with some snacks I packed. That, and he just didn’t want to sit in the stroller.
Wes enjoyed some leftover pizza for dinner. He is his father’s son and loves the pie! And I am just about finished the book club book already. Enjoyed with a beer of course 😉
I think I have to blame my lack of pictures on my latest love for snapchat. Are you on it? Add me!
How was your weekend?
Did you like Room? I just watched it last weekend and thought it was great.
yeah it was pretty good. I probably should have read the book beforehand!
I am so not a DIY home reno person… I like it for like 5 mins and then would prefer to do anything else haha Wes in those shades is the best!
yeah I’m not into the actual work part of it either hahah
I am happy for you that you are drinking coffee again! haha. How was the Nutella donut? I am usually only a Boston Cream (with the custard filling) gal.
Man everyone is on Snapchat except me! I just do not think I have time for another social media thing but that could change!
it was alright..i would prefer just a spoonful of nutella though. I had one the day wes was born so it was a nice little throwback 😉 snapchat is so fun! I was against it for the longest time but finally jumped on board
Same as Lindsey…I’m already on everything & can’t keep up with you young folks! I’m still addicted to Pinterest enough as it is…
oh i can’t get into the pinning. I do go on pinterest to check things out, i just don’t do the boards lol
Many of Swede’s meals are eaten in the “drive by” method. Especially breakfast. I sit on floor with Abel on his activity mat and a bowl of oatmeal and shovel a bit in her mouth every time she comes near. 🙂
hahah its hilarious! hey, whatever gets food in their bellies 😉
What did you think of Room? I loved it, but it changed me I feel like. So sad. My girls love pizza too. Looks like a good weekend and anytime a nutella donut is involved is a win!
I remember reading your post on how you felt after watching the movie, so I went into it thinking i was going to feel so ‘off’ from it. I did go to bed feeling weird…but it was a pretty good movie
Wasn’t Room SO GOOD.
How did you enjoy the book? I’ve had it on my stack for a couple months now so will be starting it as soon as I make it through my other book club read.
the book was alright- i loved it all except for the last few chapters. I hate when books rush though by ‘wrapping up’
I just started that book- I really like it so far!
Snapchat- I can’t get into it! I can’t figure it out half the time. #iamdumb I do enjoy seeing other people’s snaps though!
Another DIY project! I wish we could be handy but like you I get bored easily and just want it done. Like my laundry room counter- it’s been 3 weeks!! A kitchen reno would end in divorce.
I need to watch Room but I’m afraid I will cry!
You will cry!! But it’s worth it – it’s so good.
yeah, its fun to just see unfiltered life. our kitchen reno was the death of me. we’re now just looking into new homes which i’ve decided I’m TOTALLY ok with haha
What did you think of the book? I finished it the other night. Glenbow Ranch is a great spot, but not great when it’s windy. It’s so open there
yeah, it was alright but i feel like they rushed through the ending!
Yay! Are you enjoying the book?! That’s a good sign if you are almost done! I wasn’t planning on starting it till April, but now I feel like the only one not reading it at the moment lol!
And YES – what did you think of Room?! I LOVED it. So, so sad, but they did a brilliant job adapting it from the book.
My mom read it too! She really loved it and needs new suggestions. I headed to the library yesterday to return it and couldn’t find anything that I wanted to read next!
