From the Week

Phew for Friday! I feel like I’ve been running around like a chicken with its head cut off all week. It’s sort of a good feeling- like I’m accomplished or something. Even if most of the running around was to complete menial household chores and a few errands here and there. Some highlights…

Meals for the week were super boring. We had the fridge stocked from a recent Costco run, but neither of us has the ambition to cook up anything fancy. Chicken/veggies/rice is an easy go-to and then the pot roast was a no brainer in the crockpot!

Wes got a new car. Second vehicle and he’s only 10 months old? Living large. If you didn’t see the video I posted on Instagram, here it is again:

He also has taken a liking to this rocking dog. It sings “How much is that doggie in the window” and he’ll want it played over and over and over again.

I majorly splurged at Old Navy (sales + gift cards help) and added to my mom uniform. I have a Lululemon gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I’m not so sure what I want to use it towards yet!

I also finally purchased a ton of frames and got started on putting a gallery wall together for our master bedroom. There are still quite a few pieces I’d like to add, so I can’t really figure out a pattern just yet. Plus, we’re debating if we want to move the bed in the room, so I have to wait until I know exactly what wall space I have to work with.

My mama sent me some goodies! Carmex chapstick is a STAPLE for me and the Abba Zabba is a candy I’ve loved since I was little and hardly see it around anymore

Did you catch the post on New Grounds Food Coffee bars? After it was published, they actually sent me a special promo code to share with you! Check back on the post to see the sweet deal 😉

I have ben having SO MUCH FUN with Wes lately. He’s becoming more and more interactive- he will pick out certain toys and place them in groups. He’ll even hand me things..sometimes even his food. But when I whipped up a batch of protein pancakes (just for him, I don’t share mine!) he gobbled them so quick I couldn’t believe it. Mamas boy for sure. I’ve enjoyed the cuddles I get with him because there becoming less and less frequent with an active little boy. I wish I could hold him and soak up all the baby boy goodness, but my arms cramp up, so I eventually have to put him in the crib.

Yesterday, we met up with Nicole (and Audrey & Leo) at the zoo. It’s the first time I’ve been in a few years and Wes’s first trip. The weather was so nice out, and we enjoyed a great walk and conversation. Wes even napped. Giraffes are very exciting to him… obviously. I bought a membership pass so I’m looking forward to several more visits over the next year!

Last but not least, and probably the most exciting part of the week–> I finally decided to become a Beachboy Coach! I have been doing the programs since just around the time I got pregnant (July 2014) and I have grown to really love them. I’m really hoping to grow as a coach and would love the opportunity to help any of you who might be interested!

That just about covers the major points from the week. The weather looks like it’ll be great this weekend, so I’m looking forward to some outdoor time with my boys. And maybe a nap. And a beer. Or two. (Of both).

  1. Those abs though. Love your VS sports bra. I looked at it last weekend when I went shopping too but figure I have more than enough fitness clothes, I should probably spend my money on real clothes. ugh.

    • I know, but workout clothes are so freaking comfortable. I manage to slip a lot of pieces into my ‘work wear’ too. So long as I’m not the sloppiest or most casual person in the office, I’m good 😉

  2. Lucky guy getting two cars! I miss wearing workout clothes all day long, but it’s also nice to get dressed up again and feel kind of human. Not that you don’t while wearing workout clothes. That’s exciting you signed up to be a beach body coach!

  3. Congrats on becoming a beach body coach! And yay for zoo passes! I have one too, so anytime you want to go, let me know! The beauty of a pass is you can just pop in for an hour without feeling like you need to stay all day to get your money’s worth 🙂

  4. Wes is adorable!! Love him on the dog rocker! He was so good at the Zoo- barely made a peep! It was fun catching up!

Congrats on joining Beachbody- now share your ab secrets! All your secrets for staying so fit and lean while consuming yummy food and booze! K thanks! 🙂

Gallery wall- still meaning to do one in our living room but we might move in the next 1-3 years so do I really want to go through that effort? Maybe the next house…
