BABY THINGS. Because that’s my life. And I lo-ooo-ooove it.
- Grapple. It’s a great little invention that allows parents to tether up to three toys! I immediately bought it when I saw it in the store because I routinely put three loose toys on Wes’s high chair and have to retrieve each from the floor approximately a half million times each meal. The Grapple solved that dilemma and Wes seems to even get a kick out of throwing his toys around and still being able to reach them! PS: It cleans super easy AND makes for its own toy- Wes played with the leaf for a good 20 minutes before realizing his toys were attached.
2. Living Textiles Jersey Fitted Sheet. I had bought one of these before Wes was born and planned and swapping it out with a couple of other cotton fitted sheets I had bought for his crib (you know, in case there were barf/diaper blowouts). But I’ve found that he prefers the softness of this sheet. Now that he’s flipping around more and often sleeping on his belly, even I prefer to see him cheek to cheek with a softer knit. The best part? The sheet gets softer and softer with every wash. I went out on Black Friday and picked up a couple more for his crib- lucky kid.
3. Playtex Training Time Straw Cup I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago when Brie asked if I’d started using straws with Wes. Of course I hadn’t (because I have ZERO smarts on what to do with babies and when) so I immediately ran out to Shoppers to pick one up and give it a go. Within 2-3 attempts of just knowing- or gumming- on the straw, Wes finally picked up on the task and began taking small sips of water. He is totally obsessed with it and will often reach out for it when he sees I have it nearby. He’s even getting the hang of holding on to the handles, although I don’t trust him 100% with it haha.
4. (Because who NEEDS to play by the rules..I’m adding an extra) I sing this song to Wes every time I put him down. And when he doesn’t go down right away, I resort to humming it and I think he finds it really soothing when he’s resting his head against my chest. Ahhh yet another great bonding moment with my boy.
So there ya have it- a few BABY RELATED things I’ve been loving lately. These are great gift ideas too!! 😉 If you have any great baby finds, please let me know! I will gladly buy something for Wes over a new pair of Wunder Unders for myself (small tear on that one, but hey).
Where do you get those sheets? I struggled finding plain sheets when I redid Liam’s room. He has a convertible crib that he’s using as a toddler bed now so still a crib mattress.
I got them at westcoastkids. I think Amazon might have them- not sure. SO soft!
My grandmother used to sing that to me, and both my mother and I sang it to my kiddos…love it! Also look up the old recording of “A, You’re Adorable…” there is a board book for it, and it was actually my husband’s and my first dance at our wedding. No joke.
Awesome!!
Haha you do NOT have ZERO smarts silly girl. But that’s what momma friends are for! So we can keep each other in the loop 😉 I like soft sheets for the crib too – they are hard to find though! I bought a plain grey crib sheet for Sully but it’s not as soft as I’d like. I have a white flannel one, but it’s too hot to use in the warmer months. I will keep my eye out for this one next time I’m at WCK. And how have I never heard of that toy contraption!! I would have loved to have that. Sully STILL throws shit all the time, including his straw cups lol.
I don’t mind the throwing.. It’s when stuff lands in dog drool that gets me
I should pick up some of those sheets! I love that sippy cup as well 🙂 Thank YOU so much for the suggestion! Also – I’ve never heard that song before *sheltered*
Haha my mom get it in my head and it’s the perfect rhythm
Can I have a pair of those sheets for my bed?! I do need to get Amelia some new ones though
I had jersey sheets before, they were SO awesome but pilled a lot! We couldn’t have them now- between Tyler and the dogs our bed gets HOT
I am ordering these sheets for Swede right now!
Yes! They’re so soft!
I will have to look into those sheets! I LOVE that grapple thing, such a great idea!
The grapple has been awesome so far- especially now that he’s massively rolling all over the toys I don’t have to worry about them getting covered in dog hair from the floor
Love this, especially the last one! My grandmother always said ‘love you a bushel and peck and a hug around the neck’ every time we talked on the phone. It’s got a special place in my heart 🙂
Yeah- I love it!
