Lazy Mutt

I didn’t end up taking public transportation yesterday. Believe me, I tried, but there were no parking spots available at the station, so I ended up just driving to the city. I parked on the outskirts to both save on parking and get a nice walk in.

I’m going to skip over the content of the meeting because I will get entirely too worked up…but I walked back towards my car to have “coffee” with Nicole. Coffee turned into beer and hummus, but that’s typical (right?)

This lovely platter (and beer) was enjoyed at Original Joe’s. I will definitely be heading there again- their menu (both drinks and food) looked delicious.

Then, because of our overly stressful meeting, I decided to treat Tyler to dinner and drinks. We met around the corner at Julio’s Barrio for a few of these:

I had never had a Bulldog before, and it didn’t disappoint. I total felt like I should have been on Jersey Shore.

Consider the edge taken off as this meal was finished.

Since I had the ball rolling, I thought we might as well keep it going once we got home. I picked up a few beers that we had never tried before

I chose this beer for two reasons:

1) Because the 6 pack had 8 beers in it

2) Because I’m pretty sure the dog on the label is Layla.

The beer was actually pretty good. It has no distinct flavor other than beer. But, it was easy to drink and I think would pair well with almost any type of food. I will be on the lookout to see if they have any other types of beer (I am going to link to Lazy Mutt, but for some reason, my computer won’t allow me to view it)

I took a pic of the bottlecap because I thought it was cute. Maybe you will too.

Welp. this JLo booty has some errands to run and a workout to do! We are going away for the night tomorrow and I have to get ready!!

Public Tranny

Poor Layla has such a tough life. I just really wouldn’t want to be in her shoes.

I mean, really. Look how hard she has it.

No opposable thumbs! Blizzards are hard to eat without thumbs!

Watching TV upside down! (Well, I don’t suppose she has to watch it upside down, but still)

I don’t know how she will manage without me today. Honestly.

Why without me, you ask? Because I am headed downtown for a meeting with Tyler then coffee with Nicole! The worst part- I am taking public transportation. I am cringing just writing it. Eww.

All I’ve gathered so far is that I am somewhere on the left and I need to get somewhere on the right.

Me and Keira Knightly

So far, today has been pretty excellent. The nice FedEx man came and delivered wine.

(I’m pretty sure I creeped him out- I answered the door in my flannel pj’s with a muffin in my mouth)

Tyler and I had gone to Sonoma last October and visited Foppoli Wines. We signed up for their mailing list and this is our second shipment so far. It is so delicious!

Before I began my Wednesday sweat session, I decided to do my best Keira Knightly shoulder pose. Don’t we look identical?

Then, I got my workout on.

In-10-se workout

(get it? Intense, but with a 10 in it? Haha, I crack myself up)

6 minute warmup:

  • 1 min jumping jacks
  • 1 min jog in place
  • 1 min jump rope

2 times through.

The following can be done 3 times through  with 30 seconds of cardio in between each for an intense 30 minute workout:

  • 10 squats with lateral leg raise (each leg)
  • 10 lunged with front kick (each leg)

30 sec cardio

  • 10 pushups
  • 10 back extensions

30 sec cardio

  • 10 single leg squat (each leg)
  • curtsy lunges (each leg)

30 sec cardio

  • 10 tricep dips
  • 10 incline pushups

1 min cardio

Let me tell you, I was SWEATY. Bad idea that I took Layla for a walk after that. My sweat cooled down and I was fa-REE-zing.

Lots more to do today…and I am already wiped!

Protein muffins…and stuff

Before I start, lemme just show you my bangin’ word on Words with Friends (sorry Steph! 😉 )

BOOM. 102 points.

Bfast this morning was a batch of chocolate strawberry protein muffins. I got the idea from meals & moves. I substituted vanilla protein powder for chocolate, used all plain nonfat Greek yogurt and strawberries instead of peaches. They turned out pretty good!

That’s my fancy schmancy collage of muffins. Mmm. A couple of those, a pot of coffee, and a gallon of water and I’m good to go for the day!

I’ve already used the three products that I bought from The Body Shop yesterday and I love each one of them.

First, I got coconut body butter.

I now smell like Hawaii and that makes me happy.

Second, perfume.

It’s a musk, which I never go for, but this one I loved. I now smell like a lady instead of a girl who just walked through the Pink section of Victoria’s Secret.

Last, a face wash.

I was hesitant to buy it because I have been a Neutrogena girl since age 0, but this one exfoliates and leaves my face with a nice, soft glow. I highly recommend!

It is a little rainy here, but I am manning up and taking the pup for a walk. Perhaps a good workout will come to me while we’re out!

That just happened

I fully intended on taking Layla for a walk before Tyler got home. But SOMEHOW that didn’t happen. I cranked FIT Radio on my speakers while I was changing into my lulus

….then…..

my butt started to wiggle…..

my arms joined in…….

and before you know it, I was dancing.

The dancing turned into kickboxing

Then the kickboxing turned into pyramids.

(each move is done once all the way through, then 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. for moves like the side lunge or front kick, you do one for each side and so on. get it? this is for all except the 3rd and 5th pyramid.)

5 side leg lifts

5 side leg push

10 side leg lift

10 side leg push

(do this 2x though on one side then complete a 30 second plank. do the same on the other side)

I am still pretty pumped up, so I think I might head over to the gym after I have a little din din.
